FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (August 25, 2008) Chill at The Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park During the State Fair of Texas
Cool off in air-conditioned comfort at The Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park during the State Fair of Texas and see the historic art deco facility before it closes for extensive remodeling in 2009. The Aquarium will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day during the Fair.
“This may be one of the last times to visit the Aquarium before it closes for renovation,” said Gregg Hudson, executive director of The Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park and the Dallas Zoo. “We have exciting plans for extensive remodeling and are already collecting coral spawn which will be the basis of future exhibits when the facility reopens.”
Visitors also will enjoy the 150 -pound alligator snapping turtle, a giant Pacific octopus, the glow of the pulsating moon jellyfish, and baby dwarf seahorses. In addition, there are 375 marine and freshwater species including sharks, electric eels, and piranhas.
During the State Fair from Sept. 26 to Oct. 19, special feeding schedules apply:

Admission to the Aquarium is $4 for adults, $3 for children 3 to 11, and free for children under 3 and members of the Dallas Zoological Society.
